La Tabacalera Incorporada is Asia’s oldest cigar factory dating back to 1881. The factories original name was General de Tabácos de Filipinas. Tobacco was first introduced to the Philippines back in 1592. Where Cuban seed was brought to the Cagayan valley in the province of Isabella which is said to be equivalent to Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo’s climate in comparison. When Antonio Lopez started this company, it took the Philippines economy to a whole other level.
